The Judiciary Police has detained a 35-year-old foreign citizen, strongly suspected of drug trafficking in the Funchal area.
According to a statement issued by the PJ, they seized about 150 grams of cocaine (possibly the purest ever seized in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, since the opening of the drug laboratory extension and toxicology of the Scientific Police Laboratory (LPC) in Madeira, in July 2023), and approximately 22 thousand euros in cash.
The PJ further clarified that if the source had hit the market, the amount would have been enough to provide 1,000 individual doses.
The detainee was present for judicial interrogation in the Court Judicial Officer of Funchal and was immediately transported to the Cancela prison.
