The Forestry Institute (IFCN) and the University of Madeira are evaluating the maximum capacity of popular tourist sites.
Despite efforts to improve leisure areas and increased inspections, 23 administrative offences have been committed this year alone.
Manuel Filipe defends the need for restrictions, saying, “If the capacity is for 100 people in a certain area per hour, it must be 100 and not double the number.”
