The Food Bank of Madeira and the Sousa Group signed a new cooperation protocol today, Tuesday, the 8th of April.
This protocol between the Sousa Group and the Food Bank of Madeira represents a common purpose of continuing the partnership established, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2, SDG 10, and SDG 17), through the provision of logistical support in the transportation of food products from the mainland and paper, as part of their Food Bank and Paper for Food Campaigns. This partnership celebrates its 12th anniversary this year.
The new cooperation protocol will allow the Sousa Group to support the Madeira Food Bank in the transport of around 90 tonnes of food from mainland Portugal, namely donations from national companies, the Food Emergency Network, and campaigns promoted in Madeira, such as the Paper for Food Campaign and the Online Campaign, which supports 48 partner institutions, who look after 8,700 beneficiaries on the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.
