It’s that time of year again and from the 1st of March registration opens for the yearly garden competition – Funchal – Florida City 2025′ contest-. Applications are open until the 31st of March.
Registration for the 26th edition of the initiative can be made online on the Funchal City Council website or in person at Quinta do Poço da Câmara, on Estrada dos Marmeleiros, in front of the Parish Council of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The competition presents the following modalities:
– Municipal Urban Gardens
– Social Urban Gardens
– Social
Housing Gardens– Single-Family
Gardens– Balconies, balconies, terraces and staircases
– Hotel Units
“This initiative, whose combined price money is now 11,000 euros, has contributed to and reinforced the image of Funchal, and it is expected, as in previous years, that a large number of gardening enthusiasts will take part, in a contest whose main objective is to reinforce the role of all citizens in a more ‘green’ image of Funchal, deserving of the epithet ‘Garden City.”
