Seconded to the parish of Tililngdon, the Reverend Dolores has been presented with a challenge.

She’s living in an antiquated house and she’s cold. Furthermore, her new Bishop, Bishop Alice does not approve of ‘showgirls in dog collars.’

Determined to prove the Bishop wrong, she sets about warming her house – who cares if it smells of horse! There is the crochet club, jumble sale, and soup run to organise. And this year, the church bells will ring, no matter what threats are made. Even more so, the newly formed choir will spread a little joy this Christmas, even though they can’t sing – yet! And with a little help from Phil, her bassist, this year could be full of magic.

However, she has a fight on her hands as the townies out in Knob Hill – she must stop calling it that, are trying to stop her from ringing her bells. When Krystal with a K decides to do some volunteer work, Dolores sets out to see just how committed she really is.

Up to her ears in granny squares and squawking choristers, Dolores is revving up for Christmas, yet a deeper darker secret is beginning to emerge!

A secret that could blow the whole parish apart and put Dolores in danger.

As part of an initiative with the CEPAM – Conservatory School of Professional Arts of Madeira, MadeiraShopping will host six weekly concerts at 11:30 am, between February and May. Admission to the concerts is free.

The concerts are:

15th of February – Guitar Ensemble.

Ist of March – Combo Jazz of the 1st Year students of the Professional Jazz Instrumentalist Course, which promises a vibrant concert full of swing and improvisations, interpreting blues themes and American jazz classics.

8th of March – Ninfas do Atlântico, a female vocal group created in 2014 and winner of Portugal’s Got Talent 2018, celebrates International Women’s Day, and presents a repertoire of modern classical music.

29th of March – Modern Music/Rock Combos brings a fusion of Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, and Soul, under the artistic direction of Rodolfo Cró and Ricardo Dias.

5th of April – Ensemble de Cordofones Madeirenses. The group celebrates the tradition and diversity of Madeira’s sound, using instruments such as braguinha, rajão and viola de arame.

10th of May – Choir of Specialised Artistic Education (Coro EAE), where about 60 students, with a repertoire ranging from classical to pop and rock, promise a memorable end-of-season performance.
