During its latest campaign ‘While at the Wheel, the Mobile Can Wait,’ the Public Security Police recorded 169 road violations between the 14th and 20th of January.
According to the regional command of the PSP of Madeira, 1,256 vehicles were inspected, and among the 169 infractions, 12 were stopped for improper use of the mobile phone while driving, 11 for not wearing a seat belt, 13 for no MOT, 11 were not insured and 6 were stopped for driving under the influence of alcohol.
In addition, there were a further 19 arrests for road crimes, related to alcohol, lack of license, and dangerous driving.
