The Court of Auditors has issued its report on the audit of the clearance of financial responsibilities, under the debt settlement agreement between the municipality of São Vicente and the Madeira Electricity Company.
In conclusion, the TdC recommends that the municipal bodies of São Vicente, in the settlement of debts, “abide by the rules and their commitments made must be paid using budget revenues from the same year, and their satisfaction cannot be postponed to future budget years.”
It should be noted that, until June 20, 2023, the municipality, according to the Court of Auditors, complied with the protocol, “having honoured their monthly installment commitments of 11,236.69 euros, until a total of 76,420.14 euros had been paid.”
The exact amount of the remaining debt was not disclosed.
