The Parish Council of Caniço started its ‘Christmas baskets’ operation this week, continuing an annual tradition.
The Christmas baskets are purchased with Council funds, sponsorships from the padel courts, and donations from some of the local municipality’s partners.
“With this synergy, the Parish Council demonstrates its solidarity spirit and counts on the precious collaboration of our partner ADRA to deliver most of them,” highlights the president of the Council, Milton Teixeira.
According to a statement sent to JM, “this action aims to support the neediest families and those with proven economic need, in the parish, offering a gesture of affection and solidarity in this festive season to more than a hundred families.”
