Celebrating the spirit of the Christmas season, Madeira’s Military Band will host a festive concert at 21:00 on Thursday the 19th of December at the Sé Cathedral, Funchal.
In a press release from the Army, they state that through music, the Army is always aware that there are many living under the poverty line, and the institutions and charities that help vulnerable families and people believe that by hosting the concert they are contributing to community values.
There will be approximately 35 musicians from the Military Band of Madeira, in a show that includes performances by international soprano Rafaela Albuquerque and the narrator Diogo Correia Pinto. Arias by Puccini and Mozart, such as Vissi d’Arte, Si Mi Chiamano Mimi and Dove Suono, and Bei Momenti in addition to works such as Pie Jesu, Ave Maria by Caccini and Panis Angelicus.
The concert is free of charge and all donations received will be given to Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal.
