This morning, a prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, accompanied by the PSP, took documents from the Social Security Institute of Madeira (ISS) relating to a company under investigation.
The president of the Social Security Institute of Madeira confirmed this to JM. According to Micaela Freitas, the documents refer to a debt that is more than six years old.
Without going into details, and claiming this is a judicial investigation, the official said that the debt in question is already in tax foreclosure. But refused to be drawn into revealing the outstanding amount or what business it related to. All she would say was that it was a ‘service company.’
The president of the ISS said that she was not in the building at the time of the search, but confirmed that it was quick and that the prosecutor only took the relevant documents.
