Between January and September, the Public Security Police (PSP) attended to 2,838 traffic accidents, an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period of the year, according to provisional data provided by the PSP’s Regional Command of Madeira to the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM).
Of the 2,838 accidents, 891 people (12 less than in the same period of 2023) were injured. 829 were recorded as having minor injuries, 53 were seriously injured and 9 people were killed as a result of their injuries.
