The Funchal City Council (CMF) has confirmed that it has received prior approval from the Court of Auditors (TdC) to the contract for the acquisition and installation of the new Video Surveillance System for the city of Funchal. The project aims to strengthen public security in places identified by the Public Security Police (PSP).
“The limited tender by prior qualification for the implementation of the system, unanimously approved at a City Council meeting on the 11th of April 2024, had a base price of 1.4 million euros. The award of the contract was made for the amount of 852,361 euros, and the winning consortium was formed by the companies SOLTRÁFICO – Soluções de Trânsito, Estacionamento e Comunicações, S.A., and WAVECOM – Soluções Rádio, S.A.”, explains the CMF in a statement.
The contract between the Municipality of Funchal and the Consortium was signed in September 2024.
As established, the 44 video surveillance cameras, comprising three different types, will be installed in various locations throughout the city.
The PSP will be responsible for monitoring and supervising all captured images.
