The Casa do Voluntário Association, in partnership with the Organising Committee, which includes several entities (Garouta do Calhau, Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana, Regional Nucleus of Madeira, Portuguese League Against Cancer, Regional Directorate for Youth, Casa São José and Causa Social), brings together, once again, a large number of institutions in the Region on Avenida Arriaga and Largo da Restauração, will hold its XXI Fair of Wills from the 12th to the 16th of November.
Approximately, 70 institutions will get together in Funchal to “present their work, share experiences, and information and, consequently, encourage the practice of volunteering,” says the organisation, who believe that the fair and the participating institutions brighten the streets further with stage and street entertainment.
The Fair of Wills opening times are as follows:
• November 12 (Tuesday) – 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm;
• November 13 (Wednesday) – 10:00 am to 8:00 pm;
• November 14 (Thursday) – 10:00 am to 8:00 pm;
• November 15 (Friday) – 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
• November 16 (Saturday) – 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
At the same time, a solidarity exhibition will be on display in the atrium of the Town Hall of the Municipality of Funchal between the 25th and 29th of November, and can be visited from 9 am to 5 pm.
Furthermore, the Volunteer House adds:
“The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Brushstrokes of Affection.’ This initiative will present various handicrafts alluding to the theme of affections, carried out by users, employees, and volunteers of the regional institutions. With this exhibition, we want to highlight through art the importance of affection and its impact on the lives of those who practice it and those who receive it. The association’s press release concludes that the XVII- Solidarity Exhibition will have 30 participating institutions.”
