Yet another case of tourists getting lost on levadas, and this time, it was a family of four who became lost after walking through the mountains of Madeira, on a non-recommended route between Chão da Ribeira and Fanal.
The authorities received the alert around 16:30, and a Mountain Rescue team of the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz was called to the scene, accompanied by members of the Forest Police, in an operation that lasted about four hours.
Luckily it all ended well, and despite being tired and scared, no one needed medical assistance.
