A new case of alleged irregularity within the mobility allowance reimbursements framework regarding travelling to Madeira has come to light.
Local newspaper JM has confirmed that a businessman has already been arrested as part of an investigation led by the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of the District of North Lisbon—Loures (DIAP). However, the process is still ongoing, and the investigation phase may involve other individuals.
An official source from the DIAP of Loures confirmed the arrest of a businessman, who may, however, carry out his activity on the mainland.
Curiously, the suspect was released on Sunday after serving a period of preventive detention and ended up being arrested again as he left the prison, as a new warrant was served against him to allow law enforcement agencies to continue their investigations.
