October marks the celebration of World Animal Day (4th of October), and to celebrate the event, the band Akoustic Junkies joins forces with the Coffee Museum and Esound to hold the first edition of OKTOBERPET, a solidarity event with the aim of raising funds for the Association Ajuda a Alimentar Cães (Help to Feed Dogs).
This event, which promises to be a night of music and solidarity takes place on the 12th of October from 18:00 to 21:00, at the Café Museum.
OKTOBERPET promises an unforgettable night, starting with an exclusive DJ set by the duo Ventania & Amor (Cláudia Fernandes and Fábio Remesso). Then, the musicians CORVO (Francisco) and SIXX (João Silva) will make a special appearance, adding even more excitement to the evening’s entertainment.
The initiative will culminate with an energetic concert by Akoustic Junkies. In addition to music, the Café Museum will have a special menu, of which part of the day’s turnover will be donated to the Help to Feed Dogs charity.
Admission to the event is free, but attendees are invited to make a donation through a contribution box at the entrance or a QR Code available for online donations
According to Akoustic Junkies, this concert is an old dream. “We are passionate about animals and the idea of holding a fundraising event has been around for some time. We all have rescued animals and we know the difficulties that associations face, whether it’s veterinary bills or other expenses. This cause is very close to our hearts.”
“Every year we hold a concert to support a cause. We have done it before for C.A.S.A., for KW’s Red Day, and for the Madeira Biker Club, and, therefore, we thought that now it made sense for us to organise the solidarity event for a cause that is also dear to us.”
The choice of the Ajuda a Alimentar Cães Association as the beneficiary of this event “is due to its performance throughout Madeira, being one of the region’s most active and dynamic associations, which we all admire. In addition, it works daily on several fronts, whether in the rescue of abandoned animals, in support of needy families, in the sterilisation of animals, or in raising animal welfare awareness. They therefore deserve all the recognition and support we can give.”
For those who cannot attend, but still want to support the cause, donations can be made directly to the Ajuda a Alimentar Cães Association, through the following means: MBWAY: https://gateway.ifthenpay.com/url/E1KtNYyQ2X; IBAN: PT50 0010 0000 5209 0190 0019 1; PAYPAL: paypal.me/AAAC2014 OKTOBERPET promises to be a memorable event, uniting music, friendship, and solidarity in favour of the animals of Madeira:
