Three women, allegedly tourists, were surprised while they were sleeping on top of their car at the Pico da Torre viewpoint. The women were said to be ‘not happy’ when woken up by residents, however, it was later reported that they had been locked out of their car as the central locking system had failed.
This incident joins a series of recently reported cases involving abuses by tourists, who have been seen camping in improper places and practicing abusive parking in several areas of the island.
Reports later said that the women were helped back into their car by a couple of kind individuals.
