In a statement, Norberto Gomes, artistic director of the Madeira Classical Orchestra, said:

“Music of all times has filled the seasons of the Classical Orchestra of Madeira.

The beginning of a season is always a moment of palpitation and ebullition for everything that we are going to explore musically and artistically, and refine to the point of being able to bring to the public the great works of Humanity. It is at the beginning of the seasons that we meet again and share the good energies and all the good knowledge that we acquire on our holiday trips, whether physical, literary or even imaginary, and in the unique moment of musical construction, we bring to the public interpretations that are certainly our best we have to propose.

The Madeira Classical Orchestra opens its new 2024/2025 season, this Saturday, September the 7th, at the Madeira Congress Centre. The first part will be performed, in a world premiere, the work “Libera me” by the young Madeiran composer Lino Silva, winner of the First Prize of the Third Edition of the Young Talents Competition 2024, organized by the Conservatory – Professional School of Arts of Madeira, Eng. Luiz Peter CLode. This work represents the best of the inspiration of this young composer who, although he began his musical training as a child, his dedication to composition only began in 2020.

As such, students and trainees from all artistic areas of the Conservatory have free admission, upon presentation of a student card.

“Music is our Heritage” and it is this heritage that we want to share with our audience by providing them with sound experiences of beauty and aesthetics, where music through sound will sensitize the emotional and rational side.

Music has positive effects on the human being and this season the Madeira Classical Orchestra launches the challenge to our esteemed audience to come and enjoy beautiful moments with the inspired musical creations.”
