The hydrographic and oceanographic ship (BHO) ‘Beautemps-Beaupré’ will arrive at the port of Funchal at 09:00 on the 5th of September and remain berthed until 09:00 on the 9th.
After the usual courtesy visits on the day of its arrival, the ship’s Commander, Dimitri Bertheau, will receive on board, for an official lunch, several military and civil authorities. It is, according to a statement from the French Honorary Consul the second time the ship has docked in Madeira since July.
Based in Brest, the ship makes regular calls in Lusitanian ports. It is deployed for several months in the Atlantic and its main mission is to carry out hydrographic and oceanographic work for the French Navy.
