Campus da Terra Educational Project

Campus da Terra is a new educational project based in Gaula.

The innovative new initiative, Campus da Terra (CdT), at the Groverdi Farm, provides an innovative way for children to learn through the combination of self-directed free learning in nature (specifically on an organic permaculture farm) combined with an international online curriculum.

Campus da Terra aims to allow children to grow naturally, to experience personal
freedom, to play, develop at their own pace, making their own decisions whilst taking responsibility for their actions and the community around them. Through this, children can create and understand their individuality as well as learn the necessary tools to unlock their potential.

After a very successful open day on the 27th of July, the co-founders of Campus da Terra, Annika Friese and Catherine Flores have decided to hold a free four-day open day from the 4th – 7th of September from 11:00 to 17:00, where interested families can meet staff and discuss the educational curriculum. Furthermore, the CdT teachers have created a mini programme for children so that they can experience the project’s innovative, free thinking and interpretive teaching methods as opposed to the traditional school system approach to learning.
