Return Seized Lynx To Its Owner

The association Ajuda a Alimentar Cães has publicly appealed for the desert lynx recently seized in Funchal by the GNR to be returned to the owner from whom the wild animal was taken.

A public petition has already garnered more than three thousand signatures and raises awareness of the return of the animal, that is currently caged, to its owner.  Currently, the only other possibility is that it will be sent to a zoo.

In a post on social networks, the association justifies that the animal which, despite being wild, is “easy to deal with,” was bought as a cub, before animal welfare was a topic of conversation.  The owner admits he made an unconscious error of judgment, but insists that the wellbeing of his pet is of the utmost importance.  He further stated that he has never tried to exploit the Lynx, now or, when he bought him six years ago.”
