Pedro Calado Says No to Rally Invitation

Pedro Calado will not participate in this year’s edition of the Madeira Wine Rally. According to RTP-Madeira, the navigator, who won the queen race of Madeiran motorsport six times with Alexandre Camacho, will not take part due to personal reasons.

Quoted by public television, Pedro Calado thanked Play Racing and Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal for sending him an invitation, and to all those who have sent words of encouragement and support. He added that he is proud to have represented Madeira in the world of motorsport, concluding that he wished everyone good luck in the competition.

Pedro Calado, officially retired from motorsport at the end of last year’s Madeira Rally Championship. However, the co-driver had been invited to resume the duo with Alexandre Camacho for this year’s edition of the Madeira Wine Rally, to debut the new Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 on asphalt races in Portugal.
