A bush fire in Poço Barral, in Santo António, mobilised local fire brigades this afternoon.
According to an eyewitness, the fire was ignited by several drug addicts who live near the site. The fire spread consuming nearby scrubland and rubbish.
Later, the same witness, stated that the fire team had to stop fighting the flames due to the lack of water, even though the fire was still active. Luckily it was still some distance from local dwellings.
A team from the Funchal Firefighters and a PSP patrol remained at the scene.
