The Madeira Classical Orchestra (OCM), ends its 2023/2024 season on Sunday, the 21st, at 6:00 pm. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the orchestra will get premiering ‘Genesis’ by Baruch Berliner, in a national premiere and its debut in Portuguese.
The musical show Genesis, is an international project by producer Nachum Slutzker, and will take place at the Madeira Congress Centre.
“It is a symphonic poem for narrator and orchestra that combines biblical texts with magnificent music, which brings to the listener vivid images and pictures of the most ancient scriptures. The secret of Genesis’ success is the incredible melody of the symphonic poem, which intertwines with neoclassical harmony and a new deep look at the meanings of the most widespread text in the world”, explains Norberto Gomes, artistic director of OCM.
To date, Genesis has been interpreted in many countries and the text has always been recited in the local language, having been read in German, English, Russian, Hebrew, French, and Turkish, among others.
