Teatro Bolo do Caco announced, on its social networks, that they won 2nd prize with the animated living statue ‘Família Madeirense’, in the public vote of the ‘VIII International Meeting of Statues of Águeda,’ which took place last weekend.
“Thank you all! And a big hug from Madeira to all colleagues in this magical world of living statues!”, wrote the Madeiran association on their Facebook page.
It should be noted that the selection of the prizes was made through a vote in which about 1,300 people participated, “just a fraction of the thousands who passed through Águeda this weekend to watch and interact” with the statue of Bolo do Caco and 13 other living statues from various parts of the world.
For the association, this award represents not only an appreciation of Madeira’s cultural heritage, “but also a small but progressive affirmation” of its work in the national panorama of living statues, being the fifth participation of Bolo do Caco in international exhibitions.
“Now, in addition to being very happy and proud, we are even more motivated and nervous for our new creation scheduled to premiere in November at the Madeira Street Arts Festival, a Festival where we started in 2020 to explore the magical world of expressive stillness!” The group concluded in a press statement.
