A fire that broke out last night at Leroy Merlin, in Funchal, was attended by a team of 13 firefighters and four vehicles.
The alert was received at 10:38 pm, however, by the time the fire department arrived at the scene, the fire, which is thought to have been a short circuit near an exposed box, had been fought by a security guard, using a fire extinguisher.
The firefighters then ensured that the affected area was properly ventilated and dealt with any resulting damage.
