The Eco-Schools Department of the Gonçalves Zarco Basic and Secondary School launched a contest “Give a Lid to Indifference” contest and invited all school classes to participate. In order to promote a more supportive and conscious environment, this initiative aimed not only to collect plastic lids, but also galvanise students into becoming more socially aware and favouring social causes, such as, fighting indifference.
As part of the commemoration of the Eco Days, on the 31st of May, the Eco-Schools Department weighed the caps delivered by the students of the various classes who took part in the challenge. In total, 631.54 kilos of caps were collected, which were given to the Portuguese Association of People with Special Needs – Association Without Limits.
