Tomorrow, the 25th of April, marks the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, and to mark the date, there will be a March for Freedom held at 15:00 next to the Regional Assembly—the highlight of the commemorations.
Starting next to ALRAM, the march then continues along Avenida do Mar, up part of Avenida Zarco, next to the palace of S. Lourenço, runs along Avenida Arriaga, and ends in the Municipal Garden, where activities and brief speeches are planned.
The press statement concludes:
“This march is probably the first of its kind in Funchal, 50 years after the 25th of April 1974.”
