President of Madeira Resigns

Miguel Albuquerque made a formal announcement this evening confirming his resignation from the Regional Government.

An option he says he has taken on behalf of Madeira and the Madeirans, whom he has served “for the last 30 years”.

He listed the levels of growth in the Region in various areas, but believes that future objectives will only be met within a framework of “political stability”.

In this sense, he announced that next Monday a Regional Council will be held that will approve the name of the person who will succeed him as the president of the coalition government.
