A man, held up the local Caixa Geral de Depósitos branch in Câmara de Lobos, yesterday morning at gunpoint.
The robber, who is said to have acted alone, tied up the employees and fled with 200,000 euros.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) is in charge of the case having collected fingerprints and watched the surveillance footage.
The man is still on the run.
