Yesterday, around two hundred Public Security Police Officers held a protest vigil outside the Funchal City Hall.
They demand better working conditions, more respect for the profession, decent wages, and the mission supplement approved by the Government only for those working for the Judiciary Police.
Despite protesting until 3 am, the officers present stated that they take their jobs seriously and have promised that they will not give up their fight for fairer conditions until their demands have been heard and taken into account.
Concluding they said that they “will continue until they are heard, even if it is until March” when the country will elect a new government.
