Report Badly Parked Motorists

Last updated on 7th January 2024

The Portuguese Association of People with Special Needs – IPSS – Association Without Limits,  committed to defending the rights of people with disabilities, has launched a campaign to combat cases of abusive parking in spaces intended for those with mobility problems.

“It is unfortunate that we still frequently observe cases of irregular or abusive parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities,” stated the President of the association, stressing that these spaces are “essential to ensure the accessibility and mobility of these individuals, and the disrespect on the part of some drivers causes serious inconvenience and distress.”

In this sense, they invite the population to take a clear picture of the situation when faced with situations of inadequate parking in these spaces, highlighting the problem.

“We ask that you send these photographs accompanied by a brief description of the situation, including the location and date of the incident. All the information and images collected will be used to create visual examples that will be shared with the community, aiming to raise awareness and educate about the importance of respecting and preserving these spaces for people with disabilities,” it reads.

Everyone can contribute to this cause by sending their photos and information to the email: aslimites@hotmail.com or to 965 451 348.

“Associação Sem Limites offers in advance its thanks to all those who help with the scheme and allow for a more inclusive and respectful society towards people with disabilities. Together, we can make a difference!” Concludes the official statement.
