Passenger Dies on Aircraft

A passenger reportedly felt unwell and had a heart attack while flying between Tenerife and Glasgow, a Regional Civil Protection Service source confirmed yesterday.

Emergency rescue measures were activated at the Madeira International Airport as the plane made an emergency landing. Despite the prompt action of the rescue teams (Santa Cruz Fire Brigade and EMIR), the passenger had died and could not be moved until the coroner arrived.

Once death had been confirmed, the body was transported to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital morgue.
