On December the 29th, at 8 pm, the Igreja Matriz da Ribeira Brava will host its annual traditional Christmas Concert promoted by several communities in the municipality of Ribeira Brava together with the Parish of São Bento and supported by the Municipality of Ribeira Brava, Municipal Band of Ribeira Brava, Cultural and Sports Association of São João, Casa do Povo da Ribeira Brava, Madeira Mandolin Association.
The event will feature the participation of the Ribeira-bravense Mandolin Mandolin Orchestra together with the Lux Aeterna Choir Group, which under the direction of Maestro Avelino Abreu, will present traditional Christmas themes as well as national and international composers such as Domenico Cimarosa, William Kirkpatrick, James Pierpont and Mário and Sampaio Ribeiro.
In turn, the Municipal Band of Ribeira Brava will perform together with the Parish Choir of Ribeira Brava, which, under the direction of Maestro Maurício Andrade and Maestro Natalina Cristóvão, will perform traditional musical pieces with arrangements by various artists and themes by composers such as Georg Friedrich Händel, Heinz Briegel, Jef Penders, Michael Brown, and Ted Ricketts.
This annual concert, part of the Christmas Festivities Program of the Municipality of Ribeira is attended by hundreds of Madeirans and visitors to the island.
