A dead body was found on a beach in Cabo Girão today.
The collection of the corpse was coordinated by the National Maritime Authority through the Captaincy of Funchal. The body was found by a local on the beach of Vereda do Boqueirão.
Attending the scene were the Maritime and Judicial Police, with the latter retrieving any evidence from the body and the surrounding scene. The coroner was also called to verify the state of the corpse and authorise the transportation of the body to the morgue, where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause of death.
The case is being investigated by the Judicial Police.
