A 40-year-old man was arrested by the Judiciary Police in Funchal, suspected of committing attempted murder. The man set fire to an abandoned house where two people, a man and a woman aged 26 and 18 years old were sleeping.
On the 12th of November, the suspect created several fires in different rooms of the house to ensure that the two victims were unable or would have difficulty escaping the fire.
The detainee will be presented to the competent judicial authorities.
