Greater Land Inspections Approved

Councillors elected by the coalition “More for Porto Moniz” say that they approved, today, by the Municipal Executive, a proposal for a recommendation for compliance with the law with regard to the inspection and cleaning of land, a proposal that, as underlined by the PSD councilor, Raimundo Silva, “assumes even greater importance, from a preventive point of view, after the fires that recently ravaged the municipality,” requiring, to this extent and for the future, “an articulated work between the Municipality and citizens, which safeguards the collective interest.”

In fact, they were pleased it say, “it is with pleasure that we see that the measures we present at this level will, as assumed by the Municipal Executive, be integrated into the recovery plan that the municipality will launch.”

Raimundo Silva also acknowledged and approved of a vote of praise, presented by the coalition, to all those who were actively involved in fighting the fires. “Indeed, the prompt and effective response that was given by the competent authorities, regional and local, to this unfortunate occurrence, in a joint effort that was essential to prevent this catastrophe from gaining greater proportions and having even more serious consequences for the population of Porto Moniz – work to which anonymous citizens were associated, from the first hour, who, both individually and collectively, they made a fundamental contribution – they reflect a posture that is an example to be dignified and that is also what we were able to approve at today’s meeting.”

The city council also approved the start of electrification between the gates of Vila do Porto Moniz and Achadas da Cruz, an investment of the utmost importance that had been defended by the coalition “More for Porto Moniz” in previous meetings, with the Municipal Executive.
