ARM Bank Holiday Collection Service

As Wednesday, the 1st of November is a public holiday, ARM – Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A. has issued a statement advising of the changes to their services in the municipalities of Machico, Santana, Ribeira Brava, Câmara de Lobos, and Porto Santo.

Câmara de Lobos:

• The collection of undifferentiated waste (normal rubbish), usually collected on Wednesday (November 1st), will remain the same, with the service commencing at 08:00.

• Usual waste collection on Wednesdays (November 1st), will be postponed to Saturday (November 4th), starting at 8 am;

• The collection of selective plastic and metal waste (yellow recycling bin), usually picked up on Wednesday (November 1st), will be partially brought forward to Tuesday (October 31st), and the other part will be postponed to Thursday (November 2nd).

Ribeira Brava:

• The collection of undifferentiated waste (normal garbage), usually collected on Wednesday (November 1st), will be carried out on the same day, starting at 8 am;

• The collection of selective paper/cardboard waste (blue recycling bin), usually held on Wednesday (November 1st), will be postponed to Saturday (November 4th), starting at 8 am;

• The collection of selective plastic and metal waste (yellow recycling bin), picked up on Wednesday (November 1st), will be brought forward to Tuesday (October 31st), starting at 9 am.

Machico:

• The collection of undifferentiated waste (normal garbage), usually dealt with on Wednesday (November 1st), will be carried out on the same day, starting at 8 am.

Santana:

• The collection of selective plastic and metal waste (yellow recycling bin), on Wednesday (November 1st), will be postponed to Thursday (November 2nd), starting at 9 am.

Porto Santo:

• The collection of undifferentiated waste (normal garbage), usually collected on Wednesdays will be carried out in the city centre on Tuesday (October 31st) and in the peripheral areas on Thursday (November 2nd), starting at 1 pm.

Regarding the reception of waste, ARM informed that during the bank holiday the Transfer Station of the East Zone and Sorting Station of Madeira Island, the Transfer Station of the West Zone, and the Solid Waste Processing Centre of Porto Santo (CPRS) will be closed.

The Meia Serra Solid Waste Treatment Plant (ETRS) will only receive waste for incineration and green waste, from 8 am to 3:30 pm, upon prior request and on which the respective tariff will be applied.
