The Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Fino, visited the recent works at the Cancela junction and said that measures are being taken to minimise traffic constraints while they are ongoing.
“We are working on improving the highway’s congestion problems,” said Pedro Fino, mentioning that improvements are being worked on at several road junctions.
In the specific case of Cancela, the governor highlighted the importance of the work due to the large influx of traffic in that area and for this reason stressed that in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Cruz, a circulation and signaling plan was outlined to ensure the permanence of two lanes on the carriageway, while the first phase takes place.
If you are travelling through the Cancela area it would be wise to leave a little earlier than usual.
