The body of a 47-year-old man was, this morning, detected floating off the fishing port of Caniçal. The cause of the incident is unknown, and the Funchal Maritime Police attended the incident.
In a brief statement, the National Maritime Authority (AMN) said that:
“Following an alert received at 10:30, members of the Forensic Diving Group (GMF) of the Local Command of the Funchal Maritime Police were immediately dispatched to the site and collected the body from the water.”
After a forensic examination was completed, the body was transported to the Morgue.
