A vessel and crew from the Porto Moniz Lifeguard Station was activated early this afternoon to rescue three individuals who were unable to swim ashore.
The victims of Spanish nationality, two females aged 21 and 24 and one male aged 55, were unable to return to land by their own means after suffering a fall. They were transported to the pier of Seixal, where an ambulance of the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz were waiting to assist the man who was suffering leg pains.
The rescue was coordinated by the Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM, and MRSC Funchal.
