An unruly passenger caused chaos aboard Easyjet flight EJU7624 that was due to depart from Madeira at 14:20 bound for Lisbon.
According to local news media outlet, JM, the aircraft taxied along the runway, but due to a passenger failing to comply with safety regulations, when asked to move her hand luggage to a more suitable place she refused to do so, the captain decided to abort take off and return to the pan.
Refusing to comply with the request the woman was then asked to leave the plane, further delaying take off as the PSP were asked to intervene and remove the woman.
Fellow passengers were said to be aggrieved, as they were not informed as to what was going on and were not given anything to eat or drink while they remained on the ground.
The delay would have been caused by the airline having to locate and remove any hold luggage.
