The Judiciary Police, working alongside with the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira, identified and detained a 35-year-old woman who they suspected was smuggling drugs.
The arrest was carried out under a Madeira Airport police investigation that allowed officers to seize a significant amount of heroin; there was enough to prepare and sell 18,000 individual doses!
The detainee will be brought before the competent judicial authorities and remain in police custody.
