Thermometers in Funchal reached a new high this afternoon as temperatures soared to 38.7 degrees, beating yesterday’s official temperature of 37.9, to become the highest value ever recorded in June.
Quinta Grande, Câmara de Lobos came a close second, with temperatures reaching 38.6.
