The Dancilhas is a party that promotes music and popular dance.

Participants are taken on a journey through Portuguese and international music and dance. The Dancilhas relive the practice of popular dance through line and group dances.

It all starts on Friday, the 17th of March at 19:00 in the Parish Council of S. Martinho gardens, with the group VELHA GUARDA (Xarabanda Musical and Cultural Association), comprising of Rui Camacho, João Viveiros, Paulo Esteireiro, Helena Camacho, who aim to showcase the richness of traditional Madeiran culture, its instruments, musical genres, and traditional dances.

At 20:00 Madeiran group CALHAUS FOLK – Carmina Rodrigues, Mathew Ruiz, and Nélio Gonçalves- will take centre stage. The music comprises a mixture of influences from various musical genres with a fusion between traditional European and world music and dances.
