The magic of opera, zarzuela, and Italian chamber music will resonate at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias with the beautiful voices of Montserrat Martí Caballé and Luís Santana on the 11th of March, at 18 pm.
The repertoire comprises of pieces from La Traviata, Verdi and works by Donizetti, Rossini, Mozart, Obradors, Falla, Penella, Giménez, Serrano, and Torroba.
Montserrat Martí, daughter of the legendary soprano Montserrat Caballé, was born in Barcelona in 1972. She first sang with his mother in London in 1993, later moving to Germany in 1998 where she began her career as an opera singer, having played the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Hamburg State Opera. Martí sang in several classical halls and opera houses, such as Palau de la Música Catalana, Royal Albert Hall in London, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
Luís Santana, a native of Zamora, is a Spanish baritone, who trained with professionals such as Pedro Lavirgen and Teresa Berganza. Luis has performed in various theatres and concert halls throughout Europe, having participated in concerts at the Basilica del Pilar in Zaragoza, before the King and Queen of Spain, in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in the National Auditorium of Music with Orfeón Donostiarra, and in Mozart’s Requiem in the Cathedral of Seville.
