Ilha das Aves, created by entrepreneur Carlos Macedo, comprises birds from several countries and is located in the parish of Campanário.
Carlos Macedo, who did not specify the value of his investment in the park, has been working on the project since 2019. He went on to tell reporters that he plans to open his mini zoo to the public by the summer. Entry to the bird park will be a paid for experience, however, ticket prices have yet to be finalised.
During his visit, the president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, confirmed that the Regional Government will provide financial assistance to support the project due to the garden’s potential as both a tourist attraction and an educational facility.
