Porto Santo Ferry Breaks Down

Passengers were not happy this morning when the Porto Santo Ferry, which has just returned from a five-week maintenance break, broke down.

Other passengers confirmed that the ship’s captain issued an announcement, stating that they were having mechanical problems and that he would try and continue the journey on just one engine.

The ship made its last voyage on the 5th of January, and then went to the shipyards in Viana do Castelo for its annual maintenance, which lasted for five weeks.

It should also be noted that prices have increased and are already in force. The increase is 7.03% for cargo and 7.04% for passengers.
