According to a passenger report, the Friday afternoon flight from Gatwick to Madeira had to be diverted to Lisbon due to a drunk passenger.
On arrival at Humberto Delgado Airport, the aircraft was surrounded by Police and SEF officers, who then boarded the plane and removed the unruly traveller.
So far, no details have been released as to whether the passenger assaulted any of the crew members. However, the person had to be removed as passenger and aircraft safety were compromised.
