Belmond Reid’s Palace Hotel and Portuguese china producers, Vista Alegre have formed the perfect partnership, and have created a new Afternoon Tea chinaware range.
On the 1st of November 1891, the Reid’s Palace hotel opened its doors for the first time as well as offering a sumptuous afternoon served to meet the high standards of belle époque travellers, and it is their pride and belief in tradition that the teas continue today.
Vista Alegre is known for its luxurious fine porcelain, and drawing inspiration from the rare blue jade flower found in the hotel’s famous gardens, the company has created a commemorative collection to simultaneously translate the values of the two centuries-old brands and the delicate beauty of Madeira’s iconic flower.
Afternoon teas cost 39.00 euros per person, and those wishing to add a glass of Champagne Moët Imperial can expect to pay an additional 25.00 euros per glass.
